My laptop adapter died on my Dell XPS. Can I use A PA-12 since It's a little cheaper or should I use a PA-10 Since that's what it came with?

First it depends what model XPS? Sometimes you can use a PA-12 over a PA-10 on smaller XPS models, but use what is listed on the bottom or preferably what it came with. There should only be a $5 or so difference between a PA-10 and a PA-12 so if it came with a PA-10 then you should stick with using that.
